Description of Bill
Honolulu City Council (Oahu County Council) is considering raising parking meter fees in Waikiki 600% -- up to $1.50 / hour.
Hearing

Sample Talking Points

- This is unfair to families who count on cheap parking to spend the day with their families.

- If people park for three hours at the proposed rate of $1.50 per hour, they would have to bring 18 quarters with them!

- Local families are increasingly being shut out of public areas on the south shore simply because we can't afford parking.

- This parking lot allows local families to spend the day at Kapioloni Park, Waikiki and surrounding areas affordably. Raising these prices by 600% will ruin that access and right.
