Sample Talking Points

- Already 21 states have banned these types of corporate contributions.

- Hawaii would be the first state in U.S. history to move backwards on this issue, not forwards.

- Judiciary Chair Jon Riki Karamatsu and Vice Chair Ken Ito should take this opportunity to do what is right. By rewording HB 539 and amending it to place a ban on these types of corporate contributions, they can do what is in the best interest of average citizens, instead of pleasing the wealthy elite who already have an unfair advantage in the lawmaking process.
